This hand-built Alfa Romeo was designed and presented at the 1960 World Car Space in Turin, Italy. Alfa Romeo made a few special chassis (AR 10,202.02) and sent to the various Italian coachbuilders. In an attempt to secure a production contract with Alfa, Carrozzoria Vignale thought about it and built this car to the auto show.
The car was purchased by an officer of the U.S. Air Force and made his way to the U.S.. In the late '70s, the car was in Tampa, Florida, where he remained until 1990. The research revealed that it was a 'prototype' for Alfa Romeo. Found abandoned in a state, but quite complete, it required a lot of time and attention to restore its present condition.
